On March 2nd I am presenting a Webinar as part of Revelation’s GRT Series.
The title will be “The case for NewMR”, and it will look into the challenges that market research faces, show why much of what we have been doing is flawed, and highlight the way that NewMR is providing an exciting door into new tools, new techniques, and a new paradigm.
NewMR is a collective term for the new techniques and paradigms that are emerging. Key examples include:
- Listening instead of asking. For example, using blog and buzz mining to tap into customers’ conversations.
- Online research communities. Working with customers to understand and co-create the future.
- Prediction markets. A concept testing system based on behavioural economics rather than statistics.
- WE-Research. Enlisting customers as active participants in research, using tools such as blogs and iPhones to capture stories from their lives.
- Alternative models of how online access panels can be used to reliably inform business decision-making.
