MrWeb reports that there are moves in the US to add political polling to the list of activities regulated by Do Not Call lists. At the moment 150 million Americans have registered with the DNC registery (Do Not Call), but this list does not currently regulate political calls. However, three-quarters of people on the DNC registery were not aware that political calls (including polling) are not regulated by the list.
The curent moves are taking the self-regulartory route, asking candidates to pledge not to call people on the DNC list, but if that fails there is sure to be a demand for legal constraints.
