In a recent post by Seth Godin, he used the throwaway phrase “life is a beta”, which really caught my eye. It embodies so much that is important about life, don’t complain about the imperfections, just get on with living!
However, a few seconds after being impressed and pleased with the phrase, I started to become anxious that this was a phrase everybody had been using for years and perhaps I was the last to notice it. So, I Googled it! There were about 29,000 references to “life is a beta” which included a fair number of the more verbose “life is a beta test”, and just FOUR references to “life is just a beta”. This gives me some confidence that although I am behind the leading edge, I am not positively antediluvian.
Ray,
Just now, I did exactly as you did (great minds . . .).
I was thinking those 4 words ought to be the title of Seth's next book (or mine . . . or yours).
A great approach to life in the 21th century!
Thanks,
Ronald
