Here is an interesting post dicussing whether the death of the term marketing has started. The post picks up on the fact that that Piers Fawkes has dropped the use of the word marketing when describing PSFK conference to be held in LA in September. A similar debate is happening on FaceBook about the term consumers (see Stop Calling Me a Consumer group http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2376249831).
I am not sure where all this discussion and angst will lead us, but I strongly believe that the process of selling people things will change massively over the next few years, as will many other things.
